White Clover

Clover is a good grass substitute and is great for bees and other local critters. They don’t grow taller than 4-5 inches and is great as a natural mulch for your garden beds as it helps add nitrogen into your soil. It isn’t native but farmers have been using it for decades to repair pastures for grazing livestock.
